BBC Media Action Bangladesh
BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity. We use media and communications to reduce poverty and promote human rights in developing countries. We partner with civil society, local media and others to produce creative programmes in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences around key development issues and strengthen the media sector through capacity building. Our work is built on insights from our research and engagement with communities and is focused on three key themes: governance and human rights, health and resilience.
Post Name: Assistant Producer
Main Duties & responsibilities:
In consultation with the radio producer, content researcher and other creative staff, provide input and ideas to shape the format and structure of audio programmes.
Booking resources, facilities, studio time and equipment.
Researching and interviewing experts and contributors.
Write scripts of allocated radio/audio programmes.
Record, edit, mix and deliver audio packages and complete programmes for broadcast.
Work within the audio production workflow, ensuring that production tasks take place on time and to the appropriate level of quality.
Help to support and guide freelance staff including stringers/reporters, voice artists and presenters.
Assist with the development and delivery of training for media-sector partners.
Liaise regularly with project team and partners to ensure consistency of message and content across the project.
Professionally operate a range of audio equipment to the highest BBC standards.
Ensure that BBC editorial principles and all relevant legal, contractual and copyright requirements are met through proper sign-off and post-production compliance processes, referring upwards in cases of difficulty or doubt.
Develop the flexibility and skills to work with or move to other programme teams on a multi-media basis.
Any other duties commensurate with the post as allocated by the line manager.
